I’ve always liked these

I shot these images quite awhile ago, but I thought that they deserved to be showcased for a little bit. I never posted them, and have always liked them, and I hope you do too!

Double Exposures with Seth and Pete II

Here is the second installment of our “People and Places” project. This time Seth was on places duty while I made pictures of people. I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoy putting the whole thing together.

Halloween Parade, Downtown Las Vegas, 2012

Halloween just about anywhere is pretty fun in my opinion. And of course, Las Vegas does it their own special way just like everything else about this town. These are a selection of images from the parade held on the special night of the 31st. Thanks for looking.

Polo America in Las Vegas

This past weekend I was able to go to a unique sporting event at the South Point Casino and Hotel here in Vegas. Polo America held a weekend event including an exhibition match Friday night that I photographed. These are my favorite shots that I got, and for the most part I think they turned out pretty decent. I had never been to a polo match before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect or how to capture the action. The horses and their riders move quick, and lighting can be tricky.

Blurred Out

I did a series like this in college, and I’ve been wanting to play around with completely blurring the image and doing something similar again.  This is a small sample of what is to come.

The streets are empty

I feel bad not having updated this in quite some time. I get a nice momentum going, and then life steps in the way. Whether that step is a busy job keeping me busy during the time that I would normally be out shooting or simply having other tasks that needed attended to, it’s time to get back at it. Having this as an outlet to post images and design work, I love keeping this as up-to-date as possible.

This is a series of images that I took yesterday (Dec. 25) morning before the streets filled up with cars and traffic and the daily routine. This shows the city in a much quieter moment when the hustle of everyday life is briefly paused.

Bobby Bare Jr. in South Austin

Bobby Bare Jr. is on a house-party tour now traveling across the country. I was lucky enough to go to the show that he played in Austin, and in fact the show was just down from my house.

I have seen Bobby play before, but it was at a much bigger venue and many more people. That is the great thing about this type of show; it’s such an intimate experience for the listener and the interaction between artist and fan is he held in a dining room instead of a warehouse.

These are the best images that I shot, and I hope you like them too.

Cheers to Bobby Bare Jr.

Bob Log III plays the Mohawk, Austin, Texas

The Mohawk books great bands. Or, at least I think so. Last night was no different in that I got to see a show that I’ve been wanting to see for a long time, Bob Log III. It was a great show – tons of energy, packed with people and friends to share it with. I wish that I would have been just a little closer to the stage, but since I’m 6’4, I don’t like to block people behind me. So here are a few shots from Bob Log III playing the Mohawk.

This is actually one of the opening bands. Mr. Free and the Satellite Freakout.

This is Bob Log III starting the show by walking through the crowd. He’s saying hello to my friends Dave and Katie.

The man himself.

Here is a heavy-duty inflatable boat / raft that people were tossing around. I thought it might take down some of the overhead lighting. Security was not impressed.

Overall it was a great show and I can’t wait to get the chance to see him again.

Spending a Saturday at Port Aransas, Texas

I just got back from a little road trip to Port Aransas for the day and to spend the night. It was really nice spending the time with my fiance’ and getting to photograph and swim in the gulf. I’ve never seen blue water in the Gulf of Mexico quite like this. Schools of minnow’s swam around our feet, and a few small sand sharks and trout made their way around us. Some fish jumped out of the waves, and we had fun watching the action. We even saw a few jellyfish.

After swimming for a while we took a walk up to a large fishing pier and watched the people fishing and hanging out.

All in all, it was an awesome trip and I can’t wait to go back.

Cheers!
