Exotics Racing

This is an image of a Mercedes SLC AMG racing around the track at Exotics Racing here in Vegas. I had the great opportunity of covering this local business and attraction for an upcoming assignment for the magazine I work for. I’ve got more to post, but they’re on my computer at work. This was one of my favorites that I stayed late to make pictures of because I’ve always had loved the Mercedes style.

Double Exposures with Seth and Pete

This is an album that spans some 1,800 plus miles across the U.S. It is the collaboration of Seth Winn and myself. He photographed people, and I made pictures of places. For a first time try, these turned out pretty nice if I do say so myself. Check ’em out.

Halloween Parade, Downtown Las Vegas, 2012

Halloween just about anywhere is pretty fun in my opinion. And of course, Las Vegas does it their own special way just like everything else about this town. These are a selection of images from the parade held on the special night of the 31st. Thanks for looking.

Polo America in Las Vegas

This past weekend I was able to go to a unique sporting event at the South Point Casino and Hotel here in Vegas. Polo America held a weekend event including an exhibition match Friday night that I photographed. These are my favorite shots that I got, and for the most part I think they turned out pretty decent. I had never been to a polo match before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect or how to capture the action. The horses and their riders move quick, and lighting can be tricky.

Bat Country

The worlds largest colony of Mexican Free-tailed bats migrates from Mexico to a natural cave near San Antonio, Texas every year for the spring and summer months.  They come to give birth and to fatten up for the winter before heading back south.

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to go and photograph and watch the return of the colony after staying out all night feeding.  These are some of the images from Bracken Cave where they nest.

Bracken Bat Cave is located near the Natural Bridge Caverns and the grounds are quite nice.  Here are some images of the surrounding area.

Lucky Connection

I really love photographing geography and landcape photography takes me back to my original love of the art sometimes.  This is one of those times.  Yesterday my wife and I flew from Indianapolis to Austin with a connecting flight in Phoenix.  At first, I thought this would be quite an annoyance as Phoenix is very much out-of-the-way but it turned out to be a great photo-op.  I’ve only been out to this area of the country once before, and it was by bus.  Seeing the desert and mountains from above gives everything a much different look.  I’ve had the pleasure of photographing from a plane in the past, and it turns out that the window seat of a commercial airliner and an iPhone go hand-in-hand.

The streets are empty

I feel bad not having updated this in quite some time. I get a nice momentum going, and then life steps in the way. Whether that step is a busy job keeping me busy during the time that I would normally be out shooting or simply having other tasks that needed attended to, it’s time to get back at it. Having this as an outlet to post images and design work, I love keeping this as up-to-date as possible.

This is a series of images that I took yesterday (Dec. 25) morning before the streets filled up with cars and traffic and the daily routine. This shows the city in a much quieter moment when the hustle of everyday life is briefly paused.

Bobby Bare Jr. in South Austin

Bobby Bare Jr. is on a house-party tour now traveling across the country. I was lucky enough to go to the show that he played in Austin, and in fact the show was just down from my house.

I have seen Bobby play before, but it was at a much bigger venue and many more people. That is the great thing about this type of show; it’s such an intimate experience for the listener and the interaction between artist and fan is he held in a dining room instead of a warehouse.

These are the best images that I shot, and I hope you like them too.

Cheers to Bobby Bare Jr.
