Yesterday afternoon I shot the Ball State gymnastics competition, the Cardinal Classic, and captured some pretty good stuff. I like playing around with the color tones of images like these, sports pictures specifically, where normally they are pretty bland. Just taking a little different approach to normal sports photography is the idea here.

The toning of these is really neat. I like the shot of the feet on the balance beam; it’s not a typical gymnastics shot. And the timing on the last one is so perfect.

I like the last photo in the series because it’s creepy for two reasons. First, a guy is alone watching gymnastics. Second, we see a great “ass in action” shot. Well done!
